We at Pravodhana believe in putting forth as much effort as possible to make this world more sustainable. We work with people at the grassroots level to better understand policy gaps, so we can address them more efficiently. Here is a glimpse of our humble efforts towards our vision

Professional Certificate Course on Election Campaign Management

Pravodhana, in association with the Center for South East Asian Studies, Political Science Department, Guwahati University, started India’s first UGC-approved certificate course on Election Campaign Management under NEP.

The course began on 12th October,2023.

They also conducted a panel discussion on ‘The Emerging Trends for 2024 Elecrions’.

Some of the renowned faculty include Jagdeep Chokker from the Association for Democratic Reforms, Sanjay Kumar, Director of CSDS Lokniti, Abhimanyu Bharti, previously with IPAC and Founder of Jarvis, Pradeep Singh, formerly with IPAC, and Bhavesh Jha from CNX.

MLAs and MPs from different political parties also conduct workshops with the students at the university.

Medical Camps

A medical camp was organized by Pravodhana at Rajbhoral L.P. School, Tezpur, on the 20th day of September 2015. It was organized in response to post-flood-related problems such as cough and cold, malaria, stomach infections, skin infections, and various other water-borne diseases. De-worming was addressed as a major issue. Rajbhoral was one of the few villages that faced floods this year. A total of 316 adult beneficiaries and over 100 children were examined on that day, with women turning out in larger numbers.

Pravodhana organized two medical camps at the Tezpur Bihu Sanmilan, Church field festival grounds in the years 2016 and 2017, in association with doctors from the Indian Army, 4 Corps, and doctors from the Indian Council of Child Welfare in respective years. More than 200 beneficiaries availed free medical aid each year.

Creating awareness on E-Waste

Ecoroots Foundation, WWF India, and Pravodhana collaborated with the Nasscom Foundation and other organizations to raise awareness about the safe disposal of electronic waste among schools in Guwahati and Imphal. More than 20 schools participated in the day-long workshop

Education for Sustainable Development

An orientation workshop on Education for Sustainable Development for teachers from 16 schools in Guwahati was hosted by the Royal Global School in partnership with WWF India

Support to local trades

Pravodhana collaborated with the Social Service League of The Assam Valley School to assist in renovating and painting the handloom outlet of the Tezpur District Mahila Samiti.

Self Defence Training for Girls

A self-defense training for girls and women using Krav Maga was organized by Pravodhana in November 2021. The three-day training was organized in collaboration with Nari Nirbhau Shakti, a Delhi-based NGO focused on empowering women to protect themselves, and the Tezpur District Mahila Samiti. The Deputy Commissioner, Mr. B. Das, awarded certificates of completion to the participants and congratulated the organizers for the unique program. A total of 65 girls participated in the self-defense training

World Environment Day Program

Pravodhana partnered with Tezpur Mahila Samiti, Tezpur District Mahila Samiti, and Green Hub to hold an awareness-raising meeting on World Environment Day, June 5, 2023. The theme was #BeatPlasticPollution as mandated by the UN. Women, college, and school students participated in the event, and presentations were made to inform the participants about the ill effects of plastic use. A robust Q&A session ensued after the presentations.

100 bags made out of old used fabric were created and distributed around the town, along with pamphlets urging people to give up the use of plastic bags, which were then discarded

Eye Check up Camp

An Eye Check-up Camp was organized by Pravodhana in collaboration with ERS LENSES in Tezpur in October 2023

A total of 150 free eye check-ups were conducted by a team of 3 doctors for all BPL individuals

Tezpur Buzz Fund Raiser

Pravodhana organized a fundraiser in association with Tezpur Buzz to provide assistance to the affected people and organizations of the tragic May 8th Tezpur Fire

Skill Development for Security Sector

Pravodhana has been appointed as mobilizers for skill development for the security sector by P.G and Associates in Tezpur, which is scheduled to begin in July 2017 under the Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojna. The accreditation process for the same has been undertaken by the Training Partner, Indian Eye Security Pvt. Ltd., which was awarded the Best Training Partner in 2016 by the Ministry of Skill Development, Government of India, and the National Skill Development Corporation, Government of India. Currently, trainees are being sent to Belagaun, Bangalore, to the training center there under the National Skill Development Council and Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojna.
